Another online education platform to keep in mind is Edulastic. This online classroom software is aimed at schools and school districts. Its main purpose is to make it easier to assess where student gaps are, and then address them while closely measuring the growth of students. It allows teachers to quickly create standardized assessments and receive instant feedback from students to adjust learning. One of its biggest strengths is assessments, and it has more than 10,000 pre-built assessments that you can give to your students. Then it analyzes the test data in detail to determine how competent a student is in a particular area, and then recommends the next piece of instruction.

Assessment Tool: Socrative

 

Socrative is a web-based interactive student response system enabling teachers to spark conversation and learning through user-created polls and quizzes. Students access questions using a Room code, and their responses can be seen from the teacher's computer as they submit their answers on almost any device. Teachers can display the results using the "How did we do?" button once everyone has responded. Teachers can create quizzes, quick questions, and exit tickets with multiple-choice, true/false, and one-sentence-response questions that can be graded and feedback provided to each student. Students can team up to play Space Race, a collaborative activity that allows student teams to answer questions as quickly as they can; the teacher can access real-time results of this race as well as determine student teams. Finally, teachers can view quiz data and download it to an Excel spreadsheet or email it to themselves for future planning.

I would use Socrative to create quizzes at the end of each unit. I would inform my students in advance of the day I was going to do the quiz and ask them to bring any technological device to the class where they could use Socrative, so I would observe my student's progress, then I could give feedback on them. I would also ask them to write an exit ticket at the end of each unit, to find out what they had in mind about the unit. In this way, I would also measure their writing skills.

1.What is Mi-Writer

MI-Writer aims at learning analytics for English composition. Any client application can send text data to MI-Writer for natural language processing using a variety of APIs. This data, gathered at highly granular levels, provides intricate and detailed information on how students learn to compose and how their writing competences evolve.

2.How I can use it with my class

During my presentation, I came across with this program in the book, the program gives immediate feedback and tracks your progress, you can open a classroom, make students enroll and then as a teacher you can track their progress. Since this program gives immediate feedback to the assesments of the students it will decrease my workload in terms of teaching them about writing compositions. The tool has auto assesment feedback system which also underlines and finds the grammatical mistakes of the students. So even if the teacher does not trust the grading system of the program, his job will be easier because he can control the mistakes faster since they are underlined. To sum up, I would open a classroom, make my students enroll in my class, then give assesments so that I can track their mistakes, progress and so on. Also the program will help them to improve their downsides even without my help. It is a great program to reduce the workload of teachers.

Memrise is a language learning program among hundreds of them. 

What makes it stand out among others is that, according to the information we have learned from its official website, it has achieved rapid growth and development since it was founded in 2010. Today, more than 40 million people from 180+ countries use Memrise to learn languages. 

The program focuses on teaching you words or expressions from the language you are learning in a systematic way. Like Duolingo, it does not focus on grammar topics or sentence structures, there are only a limited number of grammar exercises in its courses, and we can see some sentence examples in the Learn from the native section. The Turkish-supported grammar section has not been developed yet as far as we know. German French, etc., for now, this feature is only available in some other languages that support it, for example, English over German.

Flipgrid is a website where teachers can make "grids" to facilitate video conversations. Each grid functions similarly to a message board, with teachers posing questions called "topics" and students posting video responses that appear on a tiled grid display. Grids can be shared with classes, small groups, or people who are all interested in the same set of questions. Each grid can include an infinite number of subjects, and each topic can contain an endless number of responses. Topics can be text-based or include a picture, video, Giphy, emoji, or attachment as a resource. Students can react using any camera-enabled device or submit a previously recorded video via the Flipgrid app or website. Response times can range from 15 seconds to five minutes, with a maximum recording time of five minutes. Teachers can also allow students to record replies to the responses of their peers.
